Here in New England, winter weddings are far and few between since it can get bitterly cold and snowy. As a result, when we are given the opportunity to design and produce one, we are overjoyed! My favorite time of year is fall and winter -- I enjoy the coziness, fireplaces, hot chocolates and/or hot toddies, the falling leaves, snow, and holidays. Additionally, I have a much cuter fall/winter wardrobe than my spring/summer closet. In 2021, we were blessed with not one, but two winter weddings -- one at the beginning of the season in January, and the other in December, just before Christmas. Although our couple absolutely loves Christmas, the bride had one specific request: "I don't want it to look like Santa threw up the holidays." Ha! I got you girl! After the first venue in The Hamptons fell through, we secured L'Escale at The Delamar Greenwich Harbor and started designing Christina and Michael's holiday celebration! We began the day with the bride and bridesmaids waking up at 4:30 am (meep!) to get in a final CrossFit class before hair and makeup. After some photos at Christina's parents' house, it was off to church for their traditional, yet beautiful Roman Catholic ceremony while our production team added the final touches to their reception room. Mini Christmas trees, ornament escort cards, powdered snow, and the softest, most luscious velvet linen were waiting for guests at the door. Next, we served cocktails in the lounge area, which we created under a clear top tent with velvet and suede furniture, and faux fur throws, before dinner and dancing in the main reception room. The night ended with a full dance floor and many happy faces! Grab a cozy blanket, your winter drink of choice and check out all the pretty below. xo Production & Design: Double G Events, Planning & Design // Photography: Betsi Ewing // Florals: Carrie Wilcox Floral Design // Rentals: Peak Event Services and BBJ Linen // Linens: Nuage Designs // Lighting & Drapery: Shindig Lighting // Lounge Furniture: Gather and Lounge // HMUA: Salon Shahin // Music: Fiesta Boyz Entertainment // Stationery & Reception Paper: Minted // Cake: Lovely Cakes // Venue and Catering: L'Escale Restaurant at The Delamar Greenwich Harbor
