2/14/2017

As wedding planners and designers, we come into a couple's lives during some of the most important months leading up to one of the biggest days of their lives. Jumping right into a couple's love story and having that couple trust us to design and coordinate the day that is the pinnacle of their relationship is an honor we do not take lightly here at Double G Events.

We like to get to know our clients; what their love story looks like, what they are looking for out of their wedding day, what they see for their future together. We think getting to know the couple as the unique individuals they are is super important in helping to plan their big day and make it authentic and branded to them. With that being said, we'd love for our readers to get to know some of the couples we have the pleasure of working with this year, and who will be tying the knot in just a few short months!

So without further adieu, I'd like to introduce you to one of our 2017 couples, Angela and Max who are getting married this June in an intimate, tented backyard wedding at their home in Connecticut.

Tell me a little bit about yourselves.
Angela was born and raised in Cali, Colombia. She has always been passionate about design so when she finished high school she went to college to study fashion design and right after she graduated from college she moved to the United States with her family to study English for a couple of years, but little did she know she would find Mr Right in foreign lands.

On the other hand, Max was born and raised in Connecticut. He and his family love the beach, to hunt and cook. When he turned 18 years, he went to school for business in Washington DC. But after two years he did not find college was for him, so he left to pursue his career working for his family business  along with his father and sister.
How did you two meet?!
We met in 2014 when Max pulled up to the drive through window at Dunkin Donuts where I was working and realized he had forgotten his wallet, so I gave him a free coffee! After that day Max kept going every morning to buy coffee and flirt with me until he mustered the courage to ask me out. At that time, I only spoke Spanish and Max only spoke English so on our first date Google Translator came along with us! I am now bilingual, but Max still has a long way to go! :)  What was originally based on attraction and google translate has evolved into a beautiful relationship.
How did you know your significant other was "the one"?
Angela made me feel good. She was reliable, predictable, fun, and beautiful. We compliment each other and add to each others lives. We always work through the good and bad. When you are lucky to find a love like this you have to put a ring on it!

What are your three favorite things about each other?
ANGELA:

He is a man of integrity.
He cooks for me.
He is very patient with me.

MAX:

She protects my feelings.
She is reliable.
She is beautiful!

What are a couple of your hobbies, whether shared or separate?
We love going to the movies, cooking, and traveling.  Angela loves to exercise.

If the two of you could take a trip anywhere, where would you go?
Italy, Spain, France, and Israel!
Do the two of you have any fun or special traditions you’ve developed?
We try a new recipe every Sunday!
When and how did he pop the big question?!
We got engaged last January 26, 2016 in Maui, Hawaii. We were at a tropical plantation walking around when Max saw a gazebo. We went into it and Max got down on his knee and asked me if I wanted to spend the rest of my life with him. I said yes, of course!

What was the significance behind picking the wedding venue you did?
We wanted a modest and personal outdoor, tented wedding and we were also building a new house on a beautiful secluded lot, so it just made sense to have a backyard wedding to be able to personalize and make it our own. Our Wedding is about our family and being able to celebrate this milestone with them.
What are you looking forward to post-wedding when you and your significant other settle into married life together?
We are looking forward to going on a looooooong honeymoon! As well as living together, and having a beautiful family full of love.

I can't wait to see how their wedding comes together but I especially can't wait to see how their life progresses together. I'm sure it will be filled with love and happiness.

Who will be our next 2017 couple introduction? Well you're just going to have to check back in soon! ;) Comment below the names of a couple you know getting married in 2017!
