With so many GORGEOUS venues in Connecticut, sometimes it's hard to choose just one to feature. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, it's a hard job, but somebody's got to do it. This month, the spotlight is on the exquisitely cozy Gwyn Careg Inn, located in Pomfret, CT because what's better than having your own private inn for the whole weekend? The Inn itself is a 250+ year old colonial mansion-turned-inn, but don't let it's age fool you, the owners have done a marvelous job of keeping it well updated, while also retaining it's old-time charm. It is surrounded by acres of sweeping lawns, a Spanish garden surrounded by fairytale-esque 10-foot tall stone walls, and a five tier Italian garden that leads down to a 2.5 acre pond. I'm not kidding, this place will make you feel like royalty and when the morning after the wedding weekend comes and it's time to leave, you'll be thinking of reasons why you need to stay juuuuust one more day. Not to mention the complimentary tea and snacks your guests will enjoy during their stay! One of our favorite weddings we have had the pleasure of designing at the Gwyn Careg Inn was for our lovely couple, Greta and Brian in 2013. Besides having such a gorgeous venue, we worked with some other spectacular vendors to make their special day possible. The beautiful images below were taken by the talented Landino Photo, the entertainment for the occasion was provided by the amazing A Capella band CDN, the floral arrangements were provided by Braach's House of Flowers, and the glam squad was made up of Tricia Caliola and Salon Cheveux. And the best part about this wedding?! It was a brunch wedding which is totally our jam! Who's favorite detail from Greta and Brian's wedding at the Gwyn Careg Inn was also the stone wall?! Let me know your favorite detail in the comments below!
