Ok -- I will try to be as unbiased as possible on this blog post because Sarah has been my very good friend for years and I have watched her and Peter's love grow and get stronger every day leading up to this very special occasion!
Sarah and I met long ago when we were both working at a music school part time in Connecticut (yes! we are both classical music nerds!) and became fast friends! About six years ago, she said to me "You'll be planning my wedding one day," and here we are!
Sarah + Peter's stunning and elegant, rose quartz and serenity blue tented wedding at Blithewold Mansion in Bristol Rhode Island was so authentically Sarah in every way -- stunningly beautiful, elegant, feminine, classy with a touch of whimsy. And I don't say that just because she's my friend! :)
Sarah and Peter wanted a romantic tented, destination wedding on the water and with Blithewold only minutes away from Newport, Rhode Island, it was the perfect spot! Gorgeous florals, gold geometric lighting, flowing drapery and linens along with custom menu cards with her favorite piano score printed on vellum by Coral Pheasant made every detail purposeful and intentional. And let's take ten minutes to talk about that cake made by her best friend and cake designer Whisk Me Away Cakes.
Although it rained for her ceremony, we were prepared with tons of umbrellas and the smiles and photos below tell you no matter what the weather, the smiles we still plenty! And the weather cleared up just in time for the party!
I don't have the words to describe to you both for including me and my team on this very special day. You could have chosen anyone to plan and design your wedding, yet you put your trust in me, your friend -- and that means more to me than anything. I cannot wait to continue to see you and Peter kill the marriage and relationship goals game! I love you both to the moon! xo
FUN FACT! Stay tuned because this wedding will be feature in print very soon! Stay tuned ...

Melissa + Kyle! -- Ideal clients in every way possible. I knew we were meant to be the first time we met in person and Kyle described something as "dope"! Anyone who knows me, knows that is my word! Melissa may or may not have rolled her eyes at us, but I loved them anyway! Not to mention our mutual love for Biggie Smalls! Thanks for the blanket! :)
Their industrial and organic wedding journey started by finding the perfect venue. They wanted unique, industrial and open. Melissa being a environmental science nerd and self professed "tree-hugger" and Kyle being from Colorado, they also wanted an organic and woodsy feel to warm up the industrial space. We looked, and looked and looked -->> Connecticut, New York, Long Island City, Brooklyn ... you name it we looked! They finally fell in love with a venue in the Hudson Valley that was stunning! It check off all the boxes on their list, but we were a day late and a dollar short! Another couple had just "signed" a verbal contract the day before and they had seven days to claim it. And, they did, poop! Back to square one!
So I said, "Hey, what about an airplane hangar?" -- worth a shot right? To be honest, I don't think they were totally convinced until they saw the space at WestConn Aviation by OnTheMarc Events. It definitely checked off their must have boxes! Industrial, open, and super cool and unique! The organic and woodsy would be the brainchild of myself and Carrie Wilcox Floral Design, which I have to say, we nailed it with burnt oranges, potted plants and trees, YES TREES!
The only set back -- we needed to have their ceremony at another location. Luckily, Melissa's mom's house was only twenty minutes away! They had the best of both worlds that day, a personal, tented backyard wedding followed by a killer reception at an airplane hangar!
Thank you Melissa and Kyle for your patience and understanding my crazy ideas! I legit love. love you guys and am so happy we have the friendship we have. All our best and much love on your new journey together and building your new house! I can't wait to visit!
