MAGGIE, Owner + Designer
Our company stemmed from my dream of becoming an entrepreneur, stepping outside of the corporate box, and making the world a prettier place to be in. I am a business owner, creative entrepreneur, published writer and designer, hopeful romantic, wanderluster-er, Grammy winning singer (in my car), dancer and crazy dog mama. I am obsessed with all things brass, leather and faux fur and bourbon is my choice of cocktail, always.
My background has always been in the creative arts starting from an early age in the theater. I love being around and collaborating with innovative people; singing and performing with them on stage. My life motto is ‘Creativity Breeds Creativity’ and surrounding myself with artistic folk makes my world go ‘round! My inspiration from my family, good friends and being present in life’s moments are what drives my business and is the core of our company. I will always root for and stick up for the underdog and my love for “the little things in life” help create authentic and emotion filled events for my clients.
Being a forever tomboy, my career in design started as a whim in 2004 when I received my Interior Design Certification from Fairfield University. After working in the design industry for two years, I was asked to help a friend with his catering company in Westport, Connecticut. This is where I realized my passions for design and events could blend together! After three years of learning the catering ropes, I started working as the Event Planner for the acclaimed Barteca Restaurant Group and Barcelona Restaurants where I was responsible for planning, designing and executing all corporate, social and off site events and was featured in The Hartford Courant’s article, “Dinner by the Bite”. In 2010, I decided to follow my entrepreneurial dream and open the doors to Double G Events.
When I am not working, you will most likely find me on a paddle board, taking long road trips and getting purposely lost, perfecting my smooth dance moves, traveling everywhere I can, or relaxing in front a killer fire with a glass of Woodford's and my handsome AF, super-hero partner in life.
ASHLEY, Event Director
Hello, Hello! I’m Ashley and I want to take you on a journey of my life and how I got where I am today!
One of my first big-girl accomplishments was receiving my Bachelors Degree in Business Administration at Sacred Heart University in 2013. While in school my professional journey started by working in the Financial Aid Office for all four of those years. I was involved in my friends Political and International Studies Club and partook in Intramural Volleyball. Being in an office environment is always home to me. I enjoy planning out my monthly duties and making my desk organized, yet chic. I always knew wherever I ended up there would be a desk and a chair and I was happy with that! Once my senior year rolled around, I was fortunate enough to know someone who could face me in that direction. Success struck and that year I started interning for Double G Events.
I truly enjoy the organization and preparation aspect of event planning, especially for weddings. I love being able to take our client's ideas and bring them to life while still having that element of surprise and wow factor! I am a lover at heart and forever the hopeful romantic.
When I’m not busy planning weddings, I enjoy playing sports, pigging out, going to the beach, perfecting my photography skills, surrounding myself with family and friends, traveling with my love, indulging in poetry and more!
ASHLEY, LEAD PLANNER
I'm Ashley! I am originally from Connecticut! After growing up in the north, I decided I wanted to try a new adventure, so I packed my bags and moved down to South Carolina and graduated from Coastal Carolina University in 2014 with a degree in Business Administration focusing on Hospitality and Marketing.
Through some dumb luck and a super friendly sorority sister, I fell into the lap of one of the best wedding planners in South Carolina. She gave me a shot and offered me a once in a lifetime opportunity; an internship that, at the time, I thought would just be a fun way to get this school requirement out of the way, but boy was I wrong! Not only did I find a deep passion for the industry, but I also found a sense of fulfillment and confidence about myself that I had never knew before. Sitting down with a client and bringing their dreams to reality is pure happiness for me! Turning an ordinary day into something magical is what I live and breathe and being a part of their special day and sharing in their love is is a huge inspiration. I love that I can challenge myself working in this industry to constantly strive to further success and improve myself as well as the success of the events that I work on.
