MAGGIE, Owner & DesignerOur company stemmed from my dream of becoming an entrepreneur, stepping outside of the corporate box and making the world a prettier place to be in. I am a business owner, creative entrepreneur, writer, artist, hopeful romantic, wanderluster-er, Grammy winning singer (in my car), dancer and crazy dog/cat mama. I am obsessed with all things brass, leather and faux fur, and bourbon is my choice of cocktail, always.
My background has been in the creative arts beginning from an early age in the theater. I loved being around and collaborating with innovative people; singing and performing with them on stage. My life motto is ‘Creativity Breeds Creativity’ and surrounding myself with artistic folk makes my world go ‘round! My inspiration from family, great friends and being present in life’s simple moments are what drives my business and is the core of our company. I will always root for and stick up for the underdog and my love for “the little things in life” help create authentic and emotion-filled celebrations for my clients. As a designer who finds inspiration everywhere, I begin my design process by getting to know our clients thoroughly. I want to know what your world looks like. What's your favorite restaurant or recipe? Do you like to go out or cuddle up at home? What's your favorite way to unwind? Where's your favorite spot in the world to visit? While I'm always happy to see your Pinterest images, I can learn so much more about you by understanding the furniture, interiors or art you're inspired by. Tell me about your pets, your family and the traditions you've created together. I want to tell your story. My design process doesn't begin and end with a mood board. It is ever evolving as we work together and get to know each other. It's not a science; instead it's an art that unfolds organically. Together we will explore what works and doesn't work. We will navigate what feels right and what we need to leave behind to ultimately create a day that's made just for you. My goal is for your guests to step into that space and feel who you are as a couple. I want them to see everything you're about. When I am not working, you will most likely find me on a paddle board, taking long road trips and getting purposely lost, perfecting my smooth dance moves, traveling everywhere I can, or relaxing in front a killer fire with a glass of Woodford's Bourbon. |
ASHLEY, Event DIRECTORKismet means fate or destiny and securing a dream job as an intern at Double G Events over a decade ago was exactly that. Over the years, my responsibilities have evolved and today I am proud to hold the title of Event Director.
As an artist, animal advocate, sports enthusiast, and adventure seeker, I put my heart into everything I do. For me, the office environment always feels like home. As long as there's a chic desk and a chair, I'm happy about that! The logistical brain to Maggie's creative mind, our roles complement each other perfectly. My office is usually filled with two calendars, a million sticky notes and multiple photos of family and friends, as friend once told me, "A rich environment increases active stimuli." Being surrounded by these items keeps me focused on my most significant tasks. As the Event Director, I incorporate all of this into my work ethic which allows me to plan and execute the logistics of our events efficiently. I truly enjoy curating one of the most memorable days of our clients' lives with a caring heart that shines through. In addition to my work at DGE, I enjoy photography, relaxing on the beach with a cocktail in hand, dominating at Taboo, being spontaneously romantic, and creating music videos every time I get into my car. |
ASHLEY, EVENT LEADBorn and raised in New England, however, at heart a Southern Belle, I studied hospitality and event management at Coastal Carolina University. My time there allowed me to develop a deep passion for this industry, as well as a sense of fulfillment and self-confidence.
My experience gained in working alongside the DGE team since 2015 has been extremely valuable since moving back north. What I enjoy most is celebrating our clients' special day by turning an ordinary day into something extraordinary. As Lead Planner, I oversee the entire wedding day to ensure the wedding party's comfort and confidence. On the back end, I'm concurrently collaborating with your vendor team to ensure timelines run smoothly so we can get you down the aisle and begin the celebrations! During my years living in South Carolina, I met my handsome husband whom I married in October 2019. Having recently married myself, I have a unique perspective on what our clients may experience during the planning process, and being a part of their journey to stay organized and create the celebrations of their dreams is an honor. In my down time, you will find me at home with my husband and two cats watching Christmas movies (yes - all year round), playing board games, flying to my favorite beach for a weekend getaway or simply relaxing with a good book and a glass of pinot grigio. |
CATHERINE, PRODUCTIONI joined the DGE team during my senior year at Lauralton Hall. Though I was an intern, I quickly found that I loved the fast paced environment and grasped the production aspect of events with enthusiasm and resilience. With multiple items in hand, you will typically find me assisting with day of design set-up, arranging décor and ensuring vendors and guests are on schedule, while also having fun and perhaps dancing behind the scenes.
After graduating from Gettysburg College and recently relocating to NYC to pursue my full time career, I still happily train home on the weekends to assist in managing our production team. Besides exploring my new neighborhood, I also enjoy running, boating with family and friends, reading on the beach, and attending live music shows. |
RHONDA, EVENT LEADMaggie and I formed a lifelong friendship in 2005 while organizing catering events for Barcelona Restaurant. Being a part of DGE since its inception has been an honor and I truly enjoy working with each family I meet. Affectionately referred to as "the human valium" due to my calming presence, my role is to ensure that the wedding party and immediate family are well taken care of and guided through the most significant moments of the day, from hair and makeup to the last dance.
As a native of Connecticut and a graduate of Sacred Heart University, I have maintained close ties with many of my childhood friends. I recently moved to the Branford shoreline after raising my two children in Monroe, where I served as the Monroe Food Bank's Committee Chair, managing fundraising and the needs of the organization on a day-to-day basis. During my free time, you can find me relaxing on the beach in Block Island, listening to live music, or hosting a home-cooked meal for my close friends and two children. |
MELANIE, PRODUCTIONMelanie joined the team in the spring of 2022, however has always been a member of the family as Ashley B's cousin and former DGE Bridesmaid.
While assisting with both the production and client relations aspects of events, she very much enjoys working alongside her cousin and the rest of the team. Through her bright personality, infectious smile and keen eye for detail, she helps us produce each of our unique and thoughtfully curated events, while relieving our clients and their families of any stress or anxiety. With her background in nursing; having Melanie on-site with us at each event always makes us feel safer in case anything unexpected happens. When she is not working events or in her scrubs saving lives, you can find her enjoying a glass of wine by the fire pit with her family and close friends, visiting wineries and traveling to South Carolina to spend time with her partner. |
MIMI, OFFICE COORDINATORSimilar to Maggie, Mimi graduated from Fairfield High School and Fairfield University, and happened to meet through family members and mutual friends, officially joining the team in 2022.
As our client and vendor liaison, as well as enhancing our creative partnerships, Mimi's role encompasses office coordination and administrative work. She keeps us organized with important tasks and deadlines, and runs the show behind the scenes. A former creative arts student, Mimi specializes in poetry and painting and has shown some of her work in local galleries. She enjoys spending time with her family, keeping fit, and raising her three beautiful daughters, which is her most important and full-time job. |
