Seasonal Wedding Flower Favorites

Weddings and flowers go together like peanut butter and jelly, like rum and coke, like ramma lamma lamma ka dinga....okay I'll stop short of the full Grease musical number, but you get the point. Flowers have been a staple of the wedding industry since before the dawn of time (or shortly thereafter, who's counting?) From the bridal bouquet, to groomsmen boutonnieres, to table centerpieces and even floral chandeliers, you really can never have TOO many flowers at a wedding.

We've gotten to see thousands of different arrangements from some extremely talented florists throughout the years. One question we get as wedding designers quite often is which flowers are "in season" during certain months of the year. Whether it's because brides want to use locally sourced florals and greenery, or they don't want to pay higher prices for flowers to be shipped in, knowing which flowers are available on the market during certain times of the year can be very helpful when planning your wedding.

That being said, we've teamed up with the talented Elizabeth Wecker of Fleurescent Floral Design to put together a list of some of our favorite florals for each season of the year. Check it out, below!

SPRING

1. Ranunculus: These beauties have become super popular in the past couple years, and we can see why. They're soft and feminine, they add a whole lot of texture and they come in some gorgeous colors like the pink pretties below.

2. Lily of the Valley: These are seriously some of the most adorable flowers we've ever seen. They're teeny tiny and they hang like little bells! They're prefect for adding a soft drape to any arrangement.

SUMMER

1. Astilbe: These flowers are so soft looking and gorgeously unique we can hardly stand it.

2. Garden Roses: A classic ... garden roses add elegance to any arrangement they are a part of and can be used in place of peonies if they're not in season - which can save you some cha-ching!

FALL

1. Dahlia: Whether they're a deep burgundy or a light blush, dahlias are sure to liven up any fall floral arrangements.

2. Antique Hydrangea: If it has the word antique, I already like it (I'm a vintage and rustic lover, y'all).

WINTER

1. Hellebore: The delicate hellebore, like the pink pretty below, is the perfect small flower to add some variety to boutonnieres and bouquets.
